This interview was given to Panagiotis Theodossiou for the Greek Church Radio and the program “Mousiki Disi” (“Musical West”) on the occasion of the concerts for the music by John Tanener in Athens Megaron (1995) and was published in “Ta Moussika” magazine (2, Winter 1996-97).

ΠΑΝΑΓΙΩΤΗΣ ΘΕΟΔΟΣΙΟΥ: Κύριε Τάβενερ, θα ήθελα να σας ευχαριστήσω που αποδεχθήκατε την πρόσκληση για την παρούσα συνέντευξη. Αισθάνομαι ιδιαίτερη τιμή γι ' αυτό.

JOHN TAVENER: H «ιδιαίτερη» τιμή ανήκει εξ ολοκλήρου σ' εμένα, και το λέω αυτό με άπειρη έκφραση σεβασμού προς τη χώρα του πνεύματος και της ιερότητας, μια χώρα που πάντα θεωρούσα δική μου. Πριν από λίγα μόλις χρόνια δεν Θα μπορούσα να διανοηθώ ότι Θα απολάμβανα Τέτοιου είδους τιμές. Είμαι πάρα πολύ ευτυχής.
